What do you do when someone asks you to do something for them?
You probably go through a thought process a little something like this…
Who is this person? Do I trust them? What are they asking for? Can I help? Do I want to help?
Most of us experience hundreds of these situations every week. We are deciding where to spend our time so that it best contributes to our goals and aligns with our values. We are making choices that will inevitably effect our internal perception of productivity and progression.
So what happens if the person asking you a favor is someone that you trust and admire, but the thing that they are asking of you is incongruent with your goals? Or perhaps you’ve just said yes to 5 other things, and this extra thing can’t fit into your schedule? How do you say no?
